hey everyone.

well its been a while since I wrote one of these so ill try not to make it too long with all the awesome stuff I've been doing lately.....

well first of all i had a kick ass bday, we all went out on the town and the rest is history I guess, I got a few kick ass gifts from my flat mates, some stuff to remind me of oz, and then the next day I left jindabyne so it was a good going away party as well...

on the 7th of October me and my one of my best mates chris(gags) flew down to Tasmania, just cause I had to make up for missing uluru, perth, Darwin and even the great ocean road, I was a little choked about that one. we had 7 days down here and rented a little manual Hyundai getz, and started cruising....

day1 consisted of heading to the north west coast and enjoying the view of bass strait and an awesome big rock that sits right on the coast where you can see for miles from, the waves on this side of tazzy are huge!!!

day2 we came back to launceston which we flew into and got a free shower at the backpackers and did some laundry and met up with a friend we met in the snow for a night out.

day3 waking up at noon we went to the only ski resort in tazzy, and took our pos board we found in the trash (reggie) up to the mountain, we had to hike obviously cause the resort was shut, but we hit a few jumps and messed around and as we were leaving it started to snow like crazy.....what a good day. on the way down the crazy ass hill to get there, just like the Bella coola hill, we saw a wombat about a meter from the car just chilling out.

day4 after waking up to the rising sun on the east coast we headed down the coast and a bit inland and found some more snow where I rolled a snowball just like good old elementary school days...haha. and played some footy in the snow as well. we enjoyed a little drive down the coast and saw some cool ass blow holes and wicked coast line with huge rocks and caves and arches and stuff...

day5 waking up on the south east peninsula called tasman peninsula we looked around porth Arthur an old school down from back in the day where they brought all the convicts from overseas, you had to pay 22 bucks to get in but me and gags being cheap like we are just walked in like we owned the place and had a snoop. there is a cafe there, now just the frame is up but in 1996 a mad man went crazy with an oozie and killed 35 people in this cafe and there is a little memorial set up and stuff, pretty crazy, must be them out of place tazzys everyone talks about. we ended up in hobart for the night and checked into a backpackers so we could get a proper nights sleep, the car was getting to us.. and checked out hobart night life.....

day6 we got up and headed to the southern most point you could get to in tazzy with our car anyways and dipped our head in the cold ass water closest to the Antarctica!@! good wake up on a hang over day. we then headed up inland and for those of you who don't know about 1/3 of Tasmania has a world heritage park where its all protected from development and construction of many roads so there is a whole lot of nothing there but so beautiful and untouched its amazing, we stopped by lake st. Claire...167 m deep and saw the sunset over the mountains in the background. we headed through the one road through the park and slept on a huge hill overlooking Queenstown and back.

day7 waking up to be surrounded by fog we went to Queenstown only supported by the mine next door and had breaky. we drove up to cradle mountain national park and decided we should go for a little hike. leaving at noon we took reggie with us, whom in named after the tazzy girl who won Australian big brother, and headed up. we got a few looks from the hikers coming down, asking..."what do you plan on doing with that?" well let me tell you after about 2.5 hours of getting up there we found a sick drop off to hit and tonnes of untouched snow, just so everyone knows we had no boarding boots with us and no hiking boots or nothing, we were riding in skate shoes which were already soaked to the bone, so it was funny as fuck watching the other one come down with no control at all...ha ha. we then signed our names in this little hut at the top, don't worry reggies name too, and kept on hiking on the plateau and checked out some more look outs, you could see the whole park from up here... 7 hours later upon our return all soaked and tired and laughing our asses off from our adventure today we packed up and headed back to a hill about 1000m up so we could see the sunset over the hills. man I tell you we had the best day all sunny all day and then a few clouds at the end to make the sunset look like nothing else mattered!

day8 we are back in launceston and ready to head home, anyone who says there is nothing in tazzy should take a look at our pics and see for themselves, we are both so happy to have come down here and it was definitely one of the major highlights of the trip and even better that we had the chance to use reggie to her full potential !!!

cheers and im going to see everyone one real soon.....

cheers
