| April 09, 2003 from Oliver well some good news and some crazy news coming up. I got a job, believe it or not working in a pizza place, its wicked cause I get all the free pizza I want and they make some kick ass croissant during the morning so I can have a wicked breakfast for free as well. this usually helps when I do the midnight to 7am shift. this place is open 24/7 and its a whole lot of fun to work the night, cause the first 3 hours are lazy and surprisingly not too busy plus you get to meet some crazy drunks and some funny locals. you get the usual cigarette butt collectors and people trying to convince you to give them free pizza. there is one lady who comes there often and orders a small pizza..."just make whatever" she says, then she goes and scarfs a kebab while the pizza is cooking then scarfs the pizza and hails a taxi. and before she gets into the taxi she tries to convince every guy walking by on the street to come home with her, its friggin funny cause she is pretty ugly and you get lots of people who get a bit freaked out...haha gotta love cairns, some weird shit happens up here..... speaking of even weirder shit, last night we were partying at a local bar called the sports bar it was Aaron's birthday so we decided to get a few drinks with our buddy that works there. don't worry the messed up part is coming, we were just standing there talking it up by the bar when next thing you know some dude 5ft away from us all of a sudden collapses on the floor, you could see a flash run out the door and I looked at the guy on the floor and he looked lifeless. I was trying to tell myself he cant be dead, but I guess the guy got stabbed right in the middle of chest, people tried to revive him and give him CPR, nothing worked. This whole time the music was still going, the lights were still off and they were still serving drinks, that's even more messed up. nobody was allowed out of that bar till about 3 hours later and they IDed everyone leaving and got statements from everyone, and considering that me and Aaron were right there we ended up being in the cop shop till about 6:30 in the morning giving a more detailed statement of where we were and what we saw. first time I've been so close to something like that and hope it doesn't happen again, but we are totally fine so I don't want no one worrying about anything I just thought I would let you know what happened at that were still alive...... cheers -oLiver |
