First report from Oliver and Travis, October 22, 2002
well everyone we finally made it. we got here
yesterday at around 7 in the morning and stayed up all day
enjoying downtown. there are about 4 million people in Sydney and you can tell. the weather yesterday really
sucked kinda cloudy and almost rained but they need some rain
down here cause its been really hot and dry the last
while, I guess they are going through a pretty bad drought.
but today is awesome and I think that we are going to have to
hit up a beach and check out the ocean. on the way
down from Japan you could see Indonesia and all the way down
Australia, it was so clear and beautiful. Japan was
crazy expensive, food costs so much, the only thing that was
really cheap was a carton of smokes....20 bucks Canadian, what
the hell eh, cheaper than the natives get it. the
aboriginals over here are apparently just a bunch of drunks,
last night this one in the bar wouldn't leave me alone till I
gave him a sip of my beer, so I did, and then these aussies next
to me looked at me and said ... "this is your first day
isn't it?" haha I guess its a normal thing for
them to be harassing everyone and I was the sucker who fell for
it...haha. well things are going awesome and I hope
its the same way at home. later on today we might
head up north towards Brisbane, I think that we are really
looking forward to maybe getting a place or somewhere to settle
cause these hostels just become a hassle to unpack and repack
especially when check out is at 10 am and all the people in your
room are slobs....haha oh well I cant say I'm the cleanest
person in the world.... anyways take care and here is a pic of
Travis and I in the airport before we leave

and soon there will be more on my website so check them out
every once in a while..............http://www.oliverberger.com
